New Show Social Campaign: HGTV’s Restored by the Fords
To differentiate new HGTV hosts and siblings Leanne and Steve Ford from couples seen on the network, I concepted, wrote, produced and published a series of social videos and Instastories with the hashtags #TheyAreSiblings and #NotaCouple. Also focused all content for the first season on the talent, as opposed to designs seen in the show, to encourage a connection for the audience.
When you might be a hoarder ... a hoarder of great things. 🖼 🛋 🕰

Instastories: HGTV’s Fixer Upper Final Season Preview
To build excitement for the just-announced final season of Fixer Upper on HGTV, I created a nine-slide Instastory featuring sneak peeks of Joanna Gaines’ designs. The Story was picked up by publishers like Apartment Therapy, and I continued to create and publish weekly Instastories throughout the season to promote tune-in.
Fan Engagement: HGTV’s Top Tweets
To better capitalize on the organic engagement with fans watching late-night HGTV, I was given the keys to the HGTV Twitter bus and allowed to interact more with our followers. In less than a few months, I published several of the brand’s top performing tweets since the account was created.

Content Management: The Property Brothers’ 40th Birthday
For a package celebrating HGTV hosts Jonathan and Drew Scott’s 40th birthdays, I created a content plan and coordinated the asset delivery and publishing of original photos, videos and articles across several social channels, on the HGTV website and on the Scott brothers’ personal brand accounts. The project went from ideation to published within two weeks time.
@MrSilverScott & @MrDrewScott brought it old school for their 40th. Check out these funny throwbacks.

Editing: Skeptical Moms of House Hunters
Timed for Mother’s Day, I commissioned a freelance writer to round up some of the best mom moments seen on HGTV’s House Hunters for this humorous commentary. We worked together to create more pieces like these that would capitalize on “patterns” seen in HGTV shows that fans love to talk about … or just hate.
Video Series: Andrew Zimmern in the Kitchen Series
Starring Travel Channel Bizarre Foods host Andrew Zimmern, this instructional cooking series earned a James Beard Award nomination, with one episode becoming one of the top-performing Facebook videos for Travel Channel ever. I co-produced the series, leading the direction of the shorter editions published on social and writing text for the long-form versions published on TravelChannel.com.
Social Video Producing: Mother’s Day with HGTV
As Digital Managing Editor, I spearheaded content creation for any and all “holidays” or other timely current events that could relate to network talent. I set up separate interviews with the mother-daughter hosts of HGTV’s Good Bones, coordinate asset delivery and directed an on-site intern in creating several Mother’s Day social videos from existing episode footage and video from the original interviews with text from me throughout.
You're probably turning into your mother, and that's OK. #MothersDay 👯♀️

Social Video Editing: Josh Gates Says, ‘Look at That!’
One of my favorite things about Travel Channel’s Expedition Unknown was the host, Josh Gates, and his fairly predictable dialogue. For his birthday, I edited together just a handful of pieces of footage of him saying his signature “Look at that!” line that fans came to know and love.
Talent Management: Building Audience
Many of the priority shows and talent, as well as new series and talent, were assigned to me while at HGTV, Travel Channel and DIY Network. I trained new hosts on building their personal social presences, interacting with the network audience and creating video and written content to be published on brand channels. On shoot days for on-air promos, I would often attend to create social content from my phone in between takes (see above).
Website Writing: Breaking News, Features and More
I often tap into my news and entertainment writing background to write stories about breaking news, talent profiles and episode or season previews. An article was written and published within an hour of learning about Joanna Gaines’ pregnancy, every new series with a new talent received a full writeup and notable episodes I had seen in advance would often get an excitable preview article from yours truly.
